About Iranian Student Association, CSUN ( Persian Club )
The Iranian Student Association (ISA) of California State University, Northridge (CSUN), is a club composed of students, professors, and parents who are interested in not only learning and teaching but also experiencing the Iranian culture. In our gatherings, we discuss current events, historical facts, and issues concerning the Iranian youth generation. We also hold several events throughout the school year, such as our campus-renowned New Year celebration (Nowruz) as well as Iranian concerts. Outside of our university campus, we also have booths at large events such as Sezdeh Bedar and Mehregan, where we show our pride for our culture.
Our goal is to expose the general public to our culture and offer the opportunity to learn how to read and write Farsi. Through our efforts, the Iranian language has become such a "hot" subject that CSUN's Farsi classes have reached its enrollment limit every semester since its initial offering. We do not simply teach the Iranian values and the verbal language to the community; we bring our culture to the surface and mix it with the new culture that we have adapted here.
